A couple of days ago, Lance and I went diving. We took the boat out. It was a beautiful day, WARM sun, calm waters and seattle blue skies. We cruised and finally picked a spot. Tied up to a dving bouy and got our gear on.
I knew I was in trouble when I tilted upside down in my dry suit. I've watched the PADI video and practiced a little bit on my own. But, I still went upside down. Lance immediatly righted me.
We explored the site a bit, three very long LingCod cruised by us and we were upon a rock formation. It was lovely with rock fish around it. and then, I again, sort of wafted backwards.
Before I knew it, and I don't really understand it, I was upside down, like a turtle. I'm not sure if I was hooked onto one of the crevices in the rocky formation, but I was stuck fast. My heart raced and my breath caught in my throat.
Lance was making his way towards me.
In my thrashing around, I managed to dislodge my regulator.
Instant panic was replaced by training in action. As Lance pulled me to my feet, I replaced my regulator, we locked eyes and he grabbed my bc, and I grabbed his bc and we slowly ascended.
Apparantly as I made my way back to the boat, I called to God, "My God, My God, My GOd, My God."
Lance helped me out of my gear, I crawled back on board and that was it....
Later, I said, 'wow, i almost died."
When Lance didn't contradict me....well.....I was even more scared.....
Thanks God for hearing my cry.
Thanks Lance for hearing my cry!
